Stephen Norrington not directing THE CROW remake

While actor Mark Wahlberg seemed to add credibility to the long talked-about remake of the cult hit, THE CROW, it was always director Stephen Norrington that detracted much of that project’s respect.

Well, according to an interview with Comics2Film (via /Film), that is about to change.

The outlet recently spoke to the filmmaker, who said that “I don’t know about that story but I can tell you I’m no longer involved with THE CROW.”

So amongst many things, that means that the film is now back in some sort of production limbo, whilst waiting for a new helmer, but that does definitely make me far more interested in the film. I’ve never been a fan of Norrington’s work, and while Wahlberg hasn’t been on the top of his game since (arguably) THE DEPARTED, this does bode rather well for the film. Now, this could change with the addition of another horrible filmmaker jumping aboard, but at this point, signs are pointing to this film getting a bit more interesting.
