Steven Spielberg and writer Mark Protosevich talking about a possible JURASSIC PARK 4?
Someone is on a dinosaur kick as of late, now aren’t they?
With his TV series Terra Nova set to debut relatively soon, director Steven Spielberg appears to be working on something quite similar, and something quite close to his heart. THR is reporting that the director is currently working with writer Mark Protosevich to re-boot the JURASSIC PARK franchise.
Now, a fourth JP film has been talked about for years now, and according to the outlet, one must stress that no one has been tapped to write anything yet, it’s still simply in the earliest of meeting days, something similar to what happened with Spielberg and his now failed OLDBOY remake attempt.
That all said, Universal has been keen on getting the dinosaurs back on the big screen, and they appear to be chomping at the bit to get this thing off the ground. Personally, while the JP franchise is insanely close to my heart, the idea of Spielberg jumping back in the franchise once again is actually quite exciting. I don’t think the story itself needs to be rebooted, as the casting for the first film is so utterly perfect and in many ways now classic, but a straight sequel could be a really compelling little project.
