While it’s been a relatively slow news week, we have gotten a cavalcade of new photos from the upcoming 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

Thanks to the festival’s website, we have a new look at the upcoming Mark Pellington film, I MELT WITH YOU, and if this, and the film’s extended trailer are to be believed, we may be in for something truly special here. It will premiere at Sundance on Wednesday, January 26th, 2011.

Starring a great cast, including Thomas Jane, Jeremy Piven, Rob Lowe, Christian McKay, Carla Gugino, and Sasha Grey, the film follows a group of “friends from college who gather for a weekend each year to celebrate their friendship and catch up with each other. On the surface, they look like other men going through life: they have careers and families and responsibilities. But as with many people, there is more to them than meets the eye. As the weekend progresses, they go down the rabbit hole of excess. Fueled by sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, their bacchanalian reunion drives them to an unexpected place where they are forced to confront themselves and the choices they’ve made.”

This film has been in the works for a while now, and has even received a five minute long “trailer”(thanks to the film's Facebook page), which looks absolutely great. It looks to have some great photography, and seems to feature a collection of great performances.

I love this cast, particularly people like Jane and even Sasha Grey. THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE proved that this is an actress who can do more than just adult features. Hopefully, this one continues that trend. What do you think?
