Little Birds

This holiday week, we are able to bring you a lot of these special Sundance first looks, and today we continue giving you as much news as we can. Sundance is, after all, such a big festival for film nerds and, though it would be impossible to see every film that's being screened there, at least we can edify you with all its happenings.

News we bring you now is of another entry in the U.S. Dramatic Competition entitled LITTLE BIRDS. Writer/director Elgin James brings the story of two friends, Lily Hobart (Juno Temple) and Alison (Kay Panabaker), living in Salton Sea who run away to Los Angeles in a desperate desire to escape their home. Alison, however, is content with her life and enjoys being sheltered from the possible dangers that are out in the world. When they meet three street kids, Lily convinces Alison to travel with them and go to Los Angeles.

This journey ultimately puts them face to face with dangers and decisions that they have never faced before and pushes them to see how far they will go to get what they want. "Brutally honest and beautifully rendered, LITTLE BIRDS delivers a stunning portrait of innocence lost."

Six screenings are scheduled for the film at Sundance, with the first being held at the Library Center Theatre on January 23rd, 2011.
