Floria Sigismondi The Runaways

After interviewing several directors, you really begin to notice how each's background influences their current work. For example, after seeing THE RUNAWAYS you'd easily believe that the director was an internationally acclaimed music video director because the concert scenes in the film feel incredibly authentic. But hearing the stories from Floria Sigismondi's, the film's director, own mouth adds another layer of depth to the film.

I was lucky enough to sit down with this eccentric woman, whose energy and enthusiasm made the interview one of my more memorable interviews of the festival. During the interview we talked about how Floria scored Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart for her first feature, her dedication to the story, and a dream she had the night before shooting began which restored faith in her own ability.

Check out my audio interview with Sigismondi after the jump. THE RUNAWAYS is in limited release across America right now. Check out the film in a theater near you!
