first trailer for Joe Cornish's directorial debut ATTACK THE BLOCK

Empire has posted the official trailer for Joe Cornish's comedy-action film ATTACK THE BLOCK, and it looks positively delectable.

Marking Cornish's first feature film as a director, ATTACK THE BLOCK is set to premiere at this month's SXSW festival, and stars Nick Frost, Jodie Whittaker, Luke Treadaway, and a host of other up-and-coming UK actors.

ATTACK THE BLOCK is described by Optimum Releasing as "one of the most inventive and entertaining scripts we have ever read", and centers on a teen gang in South London who, after little alien men crash land nearby, have to defend their block from the unsuspected alien invasion.

After its premiere at SXSW, ATTACK THE BLOCK will open in UK cinemas on May 11, 2011.
