Since 2009, SXSW Film attendees have had the chance to experience a little taste of the largest genre film festival in the US, Fantastic Fest. It was then that a new category, SXFantastic, was added to the SXSW lineup featuring films programmed by Fantastic Fest co-founder and Alamo Drafthouse founder Tim League. The films run the same gamut displayed by the typical Fantastic Fest lineup, from Japanese vampire films (HIGANJIMA) to emotionally draining character thrillers (RED WHITE & BLUE) to the world premier of Neil Marshall's CENTURION. SXFantastic achieved major notoriety by presenting the first ever screening of the infamous shocker, A SERBIAN FILM.

Looking over this years lineup, one gets a true sense of the awesomeness in store. There's a skateboarding, hard drinking hedgehog movie from Poland (GEORGE THE HEDGEHOG), a British anthology horror composed of segments all directed by Fantastic Fest alumni (LITTLE DEATHS), a tale of underground "Beat-Beat Revelation" battles (THE FP), and more. We sat down with Tim League to talk to about programming SXFantastic, a bit about this year's films and words of advice for someone who may not be prepared for what they will experience when they get a taste of Fantastic Fest. In Tim's own words, "I do have something of a sick perversion of liking to watch an audience squirm." Watch the video after the break!

(Note: I made a mistake in one of my questions calling RED WHITE & BLUE a SXFantastic 2010 selection. This is incorrect, the film was in the Emerging Visions category.)
