Joey Lauren Adams is best known for her roles in films such as CHASING AMY and DAZED AND CONFUSED and her appearances on television in shows like The United States of Tara. In APART, she gives us a character who represents hope in a story that seems to be surrounded by anything but that. Having previously worked with director Aaron Rottinghaus, when he began writing APART, Rottinghaus wrote the part of Dr. Jane Sheppard with Adams in mind.

I sat down with Adams to talk not only about her role in the film, but also her relationship with Rottinghaus, working with up-and-coming talent Olesya Rulin (who plays Emily), and the difference between working in film versus television. Although both a little sleep-deprived, it was a pleasure speaking with Adams and her passion for not only this film, but her craft in general, shines through.
