I was surprised how long APART (you can read my review HERE) stuck with me, even days after seeing the film. From the look of the film to the performances to the intricate story, one thing was clear, director and co-writer, Aaron Rottinghaus, has a vision and is a talent who is just scratching the surface of what he has to show audiences.

After premiering at this year's SXSW, I got the chance to sit down with Rottinghaus to discuss the process of writing the film with Josh Danziger (who also plays one of the film's leads, Noah), creating a film that looks like a classic, and the different themes and moments the story tackles. APART does not feel nor play out like a directorial debut and, as such, I look forward to see what Rottinghaus creates next.
