Here's some interesting news out of SXSW in Austin, Texas: MARTYRS director Pacal Laugier's newest flick, THE TALL MAN, has been picked up by Image Entertainment for distribution in the U.S.

THE TALL MAN is a thriller that is "set in a town where children have gone missing over the years leaving neither a clue, nor a witness, leaving superstitious locals talking of "The Tall Man", a legendary, mysterious dark figure who takes children away never to be seen again." Sound very much like the Slender Man mythos, and could thus be a very interesting film.

It starts Jessica Biel, Jodelle Ferland, Stephen McHattie, William B. Davis, Samantha Ferris and Katherine Ramdeen. Laugier directed from his own script.

The film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, and is produced by Clément Miserez (Radar Films) and Kevin DeWalt (Mind's Eye Entertainment) along with Jean-Charles Levy (Forecast Pictures) and Scott Kennedy (Highwire Pictures).
