UPDATED: Is JURASSIC PARK 4 gearing up for production?

UPDATED: Badass Digest, as the badasses that they are, spoke to Universal who simply denied that the film was shooting, which should shock no one. So either they are really hiding this flick, or someone at the studio decided to play a joke, but until further notice, there is nothing to see here. Shucks.

Chalk this one up as the very highest (or should I say lowest) type of rumor, but apparently, without a cast or crew, possibly not even a finalized screenplay, it appears as though something is moving over at Universal with regards to a possible JURASSIC PARK 4. Continue reading

Jamie Bell cast as rebooted SPIDER-MAN?

I’m not believing much coming out of the Sony camp with regards to their upcoming  SPIDER-MAN reboot, but this looks like it may be legitimate.

According to “numerous sources,” Bleeding Cool is reporting that Jamie Bell has been cast as Peter Parker in the upcoming reboot of the famed superhero franchise. This would be the second massive project for Bell, who is the star of the upcoming THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN trilogy. Continue reading

SPIDER-MAN reboot gets another candidate to play Peter Parker

Despite all the casting rumors flying about, very little has been officially said about the SPIDER-MAN reboot. The franchise and the property are immensely popular, which subsequently inspires mass speculation and rumor-milling as to every small detail about the project. One such rumor which is making the rounds is in regards to the casting of the lead - the iconic Peter Parker.

According to IESB, Josh Hutcherson is in the running to play the web-slinging hero himself. More information, after the jump. Continue reading

Robert Pattinson as Kurt Cobain not so likely after all

Thank. God. Earlier today, the British rumor mill The Sun laid claim to a frightening bit of casting news - Robert Pattinson might very well wind up playing grunge God Kurt Cobain in a biopic from Universal Pictures called ALL APOLOGIES. Scarier still, was the possibility of Scarlett Johansson (as if) playing Courtney Love, with David Fincher in talks to direct.

The fact that Fincher started in the music vid biz and that TWILIGHT'S Pattinson has already released a number of songs himself, had everyone a little concerned that their might actually be some truth to this. Luckily, that's not the case. Continue reading

BATMAN 3 to shoot this year?

One project that has gotten more than its fair share of randomly ludicrous rumors has been Christopher Nolan’s hotly anticipated sequel to 2008 monster hit, and critically lauded film, THE DARK KNIGHT.

Well, it appears as though you can chalk up yet another one to that ever growing list, but with a definite grain of possibility.

According to a source over at Moving Image (via The Film Stage), it appears as though a crew member on the set of the Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis starring and John Landis directed film, BURKE AND HARE, has a bit of an update on the upcoming BATMAN film. Continue reading

GREMLINS to terrorize your town in 3D?

There has been talk of a GREMLINS 3 for a very long time now, much to the chagrin of fans. Many fans have claimed that they would only be interested in the film if Joe Dante (director of the first two GREMLINS films) returned, and feelings were otherwise extremely mixed.

Now the rumor is that GREMLINS will be back, and taking the jump into the 3rd dimension. Continue reading

VLAD will be less about vampirism, and more about holy war

VLAD

I recently told you all that Summit was making another vampire film, named VLAD. Unfortunately, I was misinformed. Summit is making a film called VLAD, and it is about the man behind the myth of the vampire, but the film will be absolutely void of anything vampiric. Sorry to disappoint those of you that wanted to see a harder and harsher TWILIGHT, but this change in story could be really good news. Instead of a movie about a supernatural blood-sucking monster, we will instead be treated to an epic that includes holy war (Christian versus Muslim), family betrayal, and an intimate study of humanity. Sound good? Check out what the author of the script, Charlie Hunnam, has to say about the film-to-be. Continue reading

HARRY POTTER to reveal bare pooter in next film?

naked radcliffe

It is beyond obvious that the HARRY POTTER franchise is a series directed towards a wide array of ages. Nudity, however, usually makes a film pretty off-limits for children. Regardless of that fact, there is apparently going to be some Harry Potter de-robing. I guess those in charge liked what they saw when Daniel Radcliffe bared it all in the play Equus! The only question is, how much are they going to show?

David Yates, director of the next installment, HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS, has spoken out concerning this touchy material.

“Dan has appeared nude in the past. There are a couple of scenes in the new film in which he will undress, but we’re still thinking about how we present it."

Mel Gibson is back in a prison

Apocalypto

No, Mel Gibson has not been arrested. At least not up to the point that I have written that sentence. Regardless of that fact, the famed and extremely talented man that does it all is headed to a prison. Which prison? He is going to an old and foreign prison, tucked away in a familiar place for him; the still-in-use Ignacio Allende Prison in Veracruz, Mexico. I say the place is familiar because some of the shooting on Gibson's last directorial effort, APOCALYPTO, was done there.

So, how did we find out about this project in the first place? Mel Gibson is one of the best in/out of Hollywood at keeping his projects completely under wraps. I mean, it was almost impossible for reporters to learn anything about APOCALYPTO, and even after they learned bits, nothing that solid was revealed until the trailer popped up. Well, this time we have been fortunate enough that an insider has spoken up. The Governor of Veracruz, Fidel Herrera, is currently exclaiming to all that will hear that a “grand production” is going to soon take place at the Ignacio Allende Prison, and Mel Gibson and company are the folks behind it all.

So, we know that Gibson is shooting a film at a historical prison in Veracruz, Mexico, but what could the film be about? Unfortunately, the governor isn't spilling the beans on that information, as of yet. But, with a little detective work, and the help of the handy dandy internet, maybe we can find a lead. Maybe. Judd Apatow talks possible PINEAPPLE EXPRESS sequel

Picture 1

The closest thing the world has to an Apatow sequel is the upcoming spin-off of the hit comedy FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, titled GET HIM TO THE GREEK. This film will follow two of MARSHALL's supporting characters, played by Russell Brand and Jonah Hill, in a new and wildly crazy road adventure. This "sideways sequel," as Judd Apatow likes to call it, is going to be wild. "“It’s sort of like MY FAVORITE YEAR on heroin.” Continue reading
