Tarantino talks KILL BILL 3
In all honesty, when Quentin Tarantino teased us last week about a possible third KILL BILL movie, I thought he was kidding. Not like he was intentionally misleading his fans, but he said it on a foreign talk show and it seemed like one of those promises you make on New Year's Day that you believe at that time but that eventually will go nowhere.
Now Tarantino has offered more details on the project and I'm starting to think he means business. At the Morelia Film Festival on Saturday, he said he wanted to save the movie for 2014, which would give The Bride and B.B. (her child) a 10 year break from the previous film. This would make her daughter around 14 or 15 years old, definitely old enough to kick some ass next to her mom. But that's not the only news Tarantino gave away.
Between now and 2014, he also revealed that he'd like to do another movie and that he's up for just about anything. Of course, the idea of re-working an existing genre came up and the consensus around the blog-o-sphere seems to be that the Western deserves a turn being manhandled by the genre-bending master. I couldn't agree more. A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS-style Tarantino movie is just what the doctor ordered, but I'm not betting all my money on it. After INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, I've come to realize that Tarantino is capable of anything and whatever he does will be amazing.
