Teaser trailer for TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON only kind of made of cheese
I unabashedly enjoyed Michael Bay's first frenetic foray into the TRANSFORMERS universe way back in 2007 (feels a lot longer ago, right?). It was, in many ways, perfect popcorn cinema. Its sequel, TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, took all of the boom and blast from the first, throwing any sort of emotion and exposition by the wayside. I was, in short, not a fan of it.
Bay will presumably complete his trilogy next year with TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON, which will take Bay's work in an unexpected direction - moon landing conspiracy theories! Well, moon landing conspiracy theories that turn the moon landing into an excuse to play with our robot friends (and enemies) some more, complete with a super-fun historical fakeground that will confuse children for years to come. Today, we've got the first teaser trailer for the film! Are you not just jumping out of your seat right now?

The film brings back stars Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson, and Josh Duhamel, while adding Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Patrick Dempsey to the cast.
It will hit theaters on July 1, 2011, keeping the film in the franchise's big mid-summer blockbuster space. It will, of course, be available in 3D.
