With her stock seemingly rising each day, actress Teresa Palmer will now apparently be moving from ‘80s era comedies to a much hyped zombie romance project. According to THR, the TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT star (who was also seen this year in I AM NUMBER FOUR) will be joining the cast of Summit and Jonathan Levine’s WARM BODIES.

The film is based on the upcoming Isaac Marion novel, and follows “an existentially tormented zombie named R that begins an unlikely friendship with the human girlfriend of one of his victims. The blossoming relationship starts a chain reaction that will transform him, his fellow zombies and maybe the whole lifeless world.” Starring alongside Nicholas Hoult, Palmer would play the aforementioned girlfriend character.

Both Palmer and Hoult appear to be rising commodities in the film world, and while the premise may be a bit laughable in some instances, given the fact that Levine (THE WACKNESS) is behind the project, does leave me with a lot of hope. I’m a big fan of THE WACKNESS, and this will definitely be an interesting take on a genre we’ve seen done time and time again. Palmer is a wonderful actress, so hopefully this thing can live up to the potential it has here.
