Texas Frightmare Weekend announces its extended film lineup
Texas Frightmare Weekend is rapidly approaching and they have so many awesome things hanging off the end of their chainsaw. A few weeks ago they announced they will be showing the U.S. premiere of 2001 MANIACS: FIELD OF SCREAMS. If you head over to their official website, you’ll see a long list of horror icons that will be attending the festivities: THE John Carpenter (when you’re that much of a badass, you should always have THE before your name), George Romero, CHRISTINE cast, Doug Bradley (HELLRAISER), Sid Haig, Elvira, William Katt (CARRIE), and Derek Mears– to name a few.
Well if that didn’t chop off your excitement, they’ve just announced all the films that they will be screening which includes the new film from our dear friend Emily Hagins! Check out the official press release after the break.

BLOOD NIGHT: THE LEGEND OF MARY HATCHET

The film tells the story of a retarded man, who after being unjustly accused of attacking a young girl, hides in a cornfield disguised as a scarecrow only to be hunted down and shot. Later, after it is revealed he saved the girl from a vicious dog attack, members of the search posse begin being stalked and killed by a mysterious scarecrow.
