J.J. Abrams sparked people's interest when the short teaser trailer for SUPER 8 ran before IRON MAN 2 over the summer. No cast was shown in the trailer and as it turns out, nothing for the movie has even been filmed yet!

The buzz around the film has definitely died down in the last few months and this is largely due to the fact that Abrams has been assembling his cast and crew. Today, according to NY Magazine's Vulture page, the cast for SUPER 8 is starting to trickle out; it now includes Kyle Chandler of Friday Night Lights fame and Elle Fanning of THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON. Read on to find out more about SUPER 8 and what this casting could mean for the film.

Let's start off with SUPER 8's supposed plot. It centers around a group of children who find old Super 8 film footage of an alien incident and the film unfolds from there. Elle Fanning is a lock for one the the film's central children. Kyle Chandler's role is a bit more open-ended. He could play a dad, a military man, a giant baby, or maybe one of the alien invaders. Both additions to Abrams' film will certainly add acting talent and something very interesting to the still very mysterious SUPER 8.

Stay tuned for more!
