Coming off its seven Golden Globe nominations, Tom Hooper’s critically beloved THE KING’S SPEECH leads the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. THE KING’S SPEECH joins THE FIGHTER with four nominations, including Male Actor in a Leading Role, Male Actor In A Supporting Role, Female Actor in a Supporting Role, and for its overall cast.

The five cast nominations appear to be right in step with who appears to be near the top of the Oscar Best Picture list, including SPEECH, FIGHTER, BLACK SWAN, THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT, and awards front runner, THE SOCIAL NETWORK.

As far as interesting nominations go, Hilary Swank nosed her way into the Female Actor in a Leading Role category for CONVICTION, which is one of the actress’s first nominations this season. John Hawkes got a nomination for Supporting Actor for his stunning turn in WINTER’S BONE as well, which definitely makes this writer hopeful that it’ll push the more than deserving actor straight to an Oscar nomination.
