THE GOOD HEART gets a trailer, poster, and release date
One film that made a few waves at last year’s TIFF, was THE GOOD HEART, an American theatrical debut (and third feature film) from Icelandic filmmaker Dagur Kari.
Starring Paul Dano and Brian Cox, HEART tells the tale of Lucas, a man who attempts suicide and meets a bar owner while in the hospital. The two become friends and Lucas begins to work in the bar, but a conflict arises between the two when Lucas falls for a lover. Best described as a dramedy, it looks as though Vulture not only premiered a poster, but also discovered that the film was set to hit theaters from Magnolia on April 30, as well as their VOD platform on April 2.
From the look of the trailer (which can be seen below), this is one film that looks quite interesting. I love the style of the film, the score sounds amazing, and Brian Cox and Paul Dano seem to really work well together. I haven’t seen either of Kari’s first two films, NOI ALBINOI or DARK HORSE, but I may just have to check it out after seeing this trailer and really digging it. Check it out below!
