Seth Rogen’s superhero stint as THE GREEN HORNET has been pushed from its original opening date of July 7, 2010 to December 17, 2010. According to HitFix, Rogen explained “that he and his creative partners Evan Goldberg and director Michel Gondry are ‘relieved and psyched about the change’ because it does give them more time to finish and promote the movie, including an appearance at next year’s Comic-Con.” Considering their appearance a Comic-Con this year went over so well, including the reveal of Black Beauty, this just might be a good idea.

Currently, the July 7 release date is occupied by Robert Rodriguez’s PREDATORS reboot. It seems pretty reasonable that one of these flicks had to move, considering they are relying on similar box office demographics (uhh, boys). As for HORNET’s new release date, the only other film currently firmly slated for December 10, 2010 is the third film in THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA series, THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER. I can’t imagine that these two would butt heads at the box office.

As anxious as I am to see Rogen as the dashing Britt Reid, I will put away my selfish desires if it means more cash in the bank for what I am fingers-crossedly-hoping is an awesome superhero outing.
