THE LONE RANGER kicks off production
It’s been a long time coming team.
Disney has announced that they have finally started production on their upcoming big screen adaptation of THE LONE RANGER, which is now set to shoot in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Colorado. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing the film, which currently stars Armie Hammer, Johnny Depp, Tom Wilkinson, William “I Am The Best Part Of Every Movie I’m In” Fichtner, Barry Pepper, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter.
The film will be directed by Gore Verbinski, and will follow the story of “the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.”
Penned by Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio, the film definitely has fans of the PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN franchise excited to see much of the principle band getting back together here. Personally, as a fan of the cast and crew, this is definitely a film I’m excited to check out. I think the premise is quite intriguing, so while I have pause due to the character itself, I think there is quite a bit of potential here.
What do you think?
