THE LOSERS’ release date moved again

THE LOSERS is really starting to get the loser treatment.  Last week, Warner Bros. made the announcement that the film would compete amongst the summer blockbusters and moved its release date back to June, in what on the surface would look like a vote of confidence for the film.  Now THE LOSERS' release date has been moved once again.

Originally THE LOSERS was to be released on April 9th. The move to June was to prevent the film from being overshadowed by another Warner Bros. entity, CLASH OF THE TITANS, which opens on April 2nd.  There goes that vote of confidence theory right out the window.  CLASH OF THE TITANS had been pushed back in order to do a 3D conversion.

Now it seems that the film will be released closer to the end of April, this time to avoid direct competition with THE A-TEAM.  THE A-TEAM arguably has a similar theme to THE LOSERS and since it is based on the popular television series of the same name, also has more mainstream recognition and therefore more box-office appeal.  THE LOSERS will now open on April 23rd along with WALL STREET: MONEY NEVER SLEEPS and MACGRUBER.  Hopefully it will do well there.
