The Muppets finally get their star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame

Rachel Fox

March 20th, 2012

"As the Muppets once sang, 'Look at us, here we are, right where we belong.' And yes, they do belong. Thanks to the lovers, the dreamers and you - the fans."

So said Lisa Henson, daughter of late Muppet creator Jim Henson, who was joined by her brother Brian to honor the celebrated film and television stars with the 2,466 star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On hand to join in the festivities were some of the honorees themselves, including Animal, Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, Beeker and - of course - the legendary Miss Piggy (looking lovely as always). Relative Muppet newbie Walter (aka the Muppet brother to Jason Segel's Gary in last year's hit, THE MUPPETS) was also on-hand to make an appearance, seemingly cementing his status as more than just a "one hit wonder." See footage of the ceremony after the jump.

Kermit the Frog first made his television debut in 1955, and since that time the pantheon of characters created Jim Henson has grown and evolved extensively. 2011's THE MUPPETS marked a return to form, scoring a Best Original Song Oscar in February for "Man or Muppet," written by Flight of the Conchords alum Bret McKenzie.
