The new BAD ASS trailer is, well, bad ass

Danny Trejo is one bad ass mother ... watch your mouth! He's got a very specific look and it has served him well in his acting career. In his upcoming flick, BAD ASS, Trejo plays a retiree turned vigilante when the police leave his friend's murder uninvestigated. Keep reading after the break to see the awesome first trailer.

This looks right up my alley! Over the top violence, a geriatric vigilante, bad cops and to top it all off with not just Danny Trejo but Ron Perlman as well - just buy me a ticket for opening day already.

My only hesitation is that this is coming from the relatively new director Craig Moss. His previous projects include the absolutely atrocious THE 41-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN WHO KNOCKED UP SARAH MARSHALL AND FELT SUPERBAD ABOUT IT and SAVING RYAN'S PRIVATE. As writer/director of THE 41-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN, he really has no one to blame but himself for that horribly unfunny, direct-to-video mess.

Hopefully a violent twist on his type of humor will make for a fun B-movie experience.

Official plot synopsis:

Decorated Vietnam hero Frank Vega returns home only to get shunned by society leaving him without a job or his high school sweetheart. It's not until forty years later when an incident on a commuter bus (where he protects an elderly black man from a pair of skin heads) makes him a local hero where he's suddenly celebrated once again. But his good fortune suddenly turns for the worse when his best friend Klondike is murdered and the police aren't doing anything about it.

Check the official website for more. BAD ASS hits theaters on April 13, 2012.
