The first full length trailer for THE RUNAWAYS has hit the web courtesy of Yahoo Movies. The films stars Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett and Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie (the dynamic duo that took the rock work by storm as the female driven music group The Runaways). Like the teaser before it, this trailer is full of teenage angst and the girl rock anthems that made The Runaways so famous. But does it spark your interest as a film? Check it out after the jump...

There we have it, wipe the exploded fruit off of your face and take a seat. Shall we break this one down? I think, yes. First off, Dakota Fanning as Cherie Currie looks like a new level of intensity for the now 16 year old actress. I can't tell if this is a good or bad role for her but I am definitely interested to see Fanning move away from wash-out films like PUSH and her role in the TWILIGHT saga. Speaking of TWILIGHT, Kristen Stewart. I am not sure weather I hate or love her, but she is an actress that often grabs my attention and always seems to come out remarkably clean of the TWILIGHT trap one would expect her to be stuck in. It is because if these two hard-to-peg young actresses that I have some curious faith in THE RUNAWAYS. While I am not a huge fan of the band or biopics, there is a certain level of fun to be had in a film like this and (I feel) the trailer captures this quite nicely.

What about you? Does THE RUNAWAYS look like something worth your 9 bucks or would you rather just go buy some burritos?

THE RUNAWAYS will be rocking out in theaters April 9th.

Also agree with #1. Every single time First Blood is on TV I watch it (which has been happening a lot on AMC). Just a damn good movie. Really original protagonist and some really good antagonists too.
