Apparently we aren’t the only ones to notice the massive amount of love blowing directly into the sail of the ship known as THE SOCIAL NETWORK.

Deadline is reporting that producers Scott Rudin, Michael De Luca, and Dana Brunetti have signed a deal with Sony, which sees the producing core backing an adaptation of Sex On The Moon, the book writer Ben Mezrich wrote following his novel, The Accidental Billionaires, which was the basis of THE SOCIAL NETWORK.

The novel follows “a NASA employee who setals moon rocks to dazzle his girlfriend.” Yeah, much less of an inspired narrative than the founding of Facebook.

Sounding much more like Mezrich’s Bringing Down The House novel, later turned into the film 21, than his SOCIAL NETWORK inspiration, the producing team behind the film, particularly Rudin, definitely has me a bit intrigued.  Nothing else has yet been revealed, but expect a lot more on this project to come relatively soon.
