I still think "A STUFF" would've been a better prequel name.

With Comic-Con on the horizon, some of the more interesting projects coming out over the next year are going to be getting some face time. Today, MSN has released the first official trailer for THE THING (prequel). The trailer shows off some of the practical effects as well as Mary Elizabeth Winstead's super hot lady hotness. Check out the trailer after the jump.

I have to admit, this thing looks pretty great, despite the golden status the original still maintains. Winstead looks to be a great "Lady Kurt Russell" even if she can't sport a beard. I appreciate the nods to the original film as well (dogs, dogs, and dogs!).

THE THING will be making its way to Comic-Con next week and I suspect we'll be getting a few more details on the film as well as some more stills from the production. THE THING (prequel) is expected to release sometime this fall. Hurray for good remakes!

Its look fantastic but rings too close to the Carpenter version in so many regards. Prequel right?  Wouldn’t that make this then the Norwegian base camp? Joel Edgerton, top notch.
