Black Swan

Darren Aronofsky is a director that is often operating on a level above all other working directors. With films like REQUIEM FOR A DREAM and THE WRESTLER, Aronofsky is always expanding and improving his film technique and storytelling.

His latest, BLACK SWAN, stars Natalie Portman and is essentially a film centering around a ballerina. While I have been known to thrown on a tutu on occasion, this particular Aronofsky project struck me as slightly bland. Now (thanks to Apple) we have out first teaser trailer for BLACK SWAN. I was very, very wrong about the potential in this film.

Thanks to Collider for the embeddable version, check out Apple for HD.

This film was so far off my radar I forgot it was even releasing this year (December). Now, BLACK SWAN is on my most anticipated films of 2010. Portman looks to be on the top of her game and probably on top of Mila Kunis in a few scenes. It's also nice to see Aronofsky return to the REQUIEM FOR A DREAM style probing drama.

I cannot wait to see this and am so jealous of the critics (including Mr. Chase Whale himself) who will get to see this when it plays at the Toronto International Film Festival.
