TIFF announces first 50 titles for 2010 festival
Here we go - the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has just announced the first 50 titles that will be screening at the fest this year. The festival kicks off on September 9 and screens some of the year's best upcoming films, which often go on to receive very prestigious awards during awards season. Here's just a pinch of films screening at the festival that we've all been gossiping about - I'm going to assume you already know who's behind them: BLACK SWAN, THE CONSPIRATOR, THE TOWN, IT'S KIND OF A FUNNY STORY, NEVER LET ME GO, and YOU WILL MEET A TALL DARK STRANGER. Emilio Estevez's THE WAY will be making its world premiere there as well. This guy has come a long way and it's so awesome to see his directing become so successful.
Three films that played at Sundance, BLUE VALENTINE, JACK GOES BOATING and BURIED, will be making their Canadian debut at this year's TIFF. We were fortunate enough to catch these last January, and you can read head over to our Sundance page to read the reviews of VALENTINE, BOATING, and BURIED. And, if you're interested, we have interviews with directors Derek Cianfrance (BLUE VALENTINE) and Philip Seymour Hoffman (JACK GOES BOATING).
Check out the full list of 50 after the break!
