Todd Phillips is taking a STAYCATION
With this economy, not every family can afford to take off work and trek cross-country to visit Wally World, but Todd Phillips doesn't see why that should stop them from finding enjoyment a little closer to home. In a project he's working on with CLASH OF THE TITANS writers Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, we will see the family vacation become a family staycation in this aptly titled STAYCATION. Phillips is set up to start filming HANGOVER 2 this Autumn, so if this project is coming together soon, we may not see him handling the direction himself, but that won't stop the scribes from hoping Phillips can help them lure in some familiar faces for cameos:
"[Todd] didn't say anything specifically [about cameos], but that's the assumption we always write under," said Manfredi. "You want to write a great character that's going to lure these guys in. If there's a character who pops up, you always want to try to give that man or woman something fun, so every part is a potential scene stealer."
Citing the classic VACATION movies and John Hughes movies as inspiration for this project, Hay and Manfredi at least seem to be headed in the right direction, and with Todd Phillips involved there's no doubt this will be a project to keep an eye on.
