Tom Wilkinson is one of cinema's great character actors who gets major critical acclaim for his performances, and who often shows up in some of the biggest movies of a given year. However, he still doesn't have that major mainstream prominence that other actors of his caliber have. But that won't stop him from trying, and all of us who love his work want to thank him for that.

Wilkinson seems to have his eye on joining the cast of Disney's upcoming LONE RANGER film, and is in early negotiations for his role. Wilkinson would be taking up the role of a railroad tycoon, which is said to be a prominent role in the film. This would pair him up with Armie Hammer as the Lone Ranger, and the once odd, yet now exciting, casting of Johnny Depp as his sidekick Tonto. PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN director Gore Verbinski will be taking up the director's chair.

The film once seemed to be plagued with mediocrity, but slowly, as casting grows and more announcements are made, I'm starting to get pumped. I really enjoyed Verbinski's work on the PIRATES movies, and he seems like the perfect fit for this one. If Wilkinson does join the film, it'll only raise my excitement even higher than it already is.
