Tony and Ridley Scott also diving 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA

Oh, Hollywood. You are so hilarious. That's right, Gordon and the Whalers, there is now a second 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA flick under construction. Earlier in the week, you all read (since you all read GATW every chance you can get) that David Fincher would be helming what would apparently only be the first of two film adaptations  of the timeless Jules Verne story, but now it seems as if Tony and Ridley Scott will also be tackling the project.

Heat Vision is reporting that the duo has been in talks recently with CLASH OF THE TITANS co-screenwriter Travis Beacham, as well as WANTED director Timur Bekmambetov, for the film. I'd hire him based on his name alone, but he does seem a good fit for the project.

The team will be making the movie under Fox's watchful eye. It started, almost silently, after the writers' strike. Being as the book is in public domain, anyone can remake it, which is why we're only hearing about it now.

At any rate, I'm hoping they both arrive simultaneously. Hilarious. Thoughts?
