TOTAL RECALL remake has a release date
The upcoming TOTAL RECALL is one that we have a lot to be excited about. The new film is going in a very different direction, and is being liken to being closer to that of the Philip K. Dick source story, We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, rather than the 1990 Schwarzenegger film.
We now know exactly when to expect the film to hit theaters, as a release date has been announced.
The Colin Farrell-led rehash will release on August 3, 2012, which will plant it firmly as a competitor against THE BOURNE LEGACY. Pretty solid competition for the film, but it seems like a very fitting end-of-summer slot.
With the mixture of Philip K. Dick story, Colin Farrell starring, and and Len Wiseman's direction, the film should at least be entertaining, if not truly great. I have a hard time looking at it as a remake per se, because of the vastly different direction they are taking with the film. However, that is exactly what is making it such an exciting project, and it seems the team behind it have got a strong head on their shoulders, and really could make a great movie.
