Coming to us from director Patrick Lussier (MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D) is another film that looks made for 3D. No, it actually looks as if it would not exist without 3D technology. DRIVE ANGRY 3D may not be winning any Oscars for overall quality, but it sounds like one hell of a fun ride.

Nicolas Cage stars as Milton, a “hardened felon” who has “broken out of hell” to exact some serious goddamn revenge. He’s out to get the cult who murdered his daughter (led by Billy Burke’s Jonah King). As if that wasn’t reason enough to rage with some serious vehicular homicides, the cult is about to sacrifice Milton’s grandbaby. Underneath the full moon. In three days. Milton is joined by Piper (Amber Heard), who jacks her ex’s souped-up muscle car so that, well, Milton can have something to do all that angry driving in. Oh, also, they’re being tailed by the police and a killer sent by the Devil to bring Milton back to Hell. Turns out, when Milton “broke out of hell,” that wasn’t just hyperbole.

This trailer looks positively insane. To say I used the tamest still to topline this post is the understatement of the year. This film could easily be called BE NICOLAS CAGE AND ACT TOTALLY GODDAMN CRAZY WITH GUNS AND CARS AND FIRE 3D, and that would still not quite capture what you’re about to see. Check out the trailer after the break!

DRIVE ANGRY 3D is going to crash its Honda right into theaters on February 11, 2011. Watch the hell out.
