Whether you watched the bootleg that looked so bad it may have been shot with a Super 8 last week, or you caught it before IRON MAN 2 this weekend, chances are most of you film fans have seen the trailer for J.J. Abrams new super secret SUPER 8. If you haven't, then I urge you to prepare yourself for what can only be described with the word, "Awesome." I use awesome because it is what they used to describe cool things in The Bible.

If you've been living under a rock the last week, SUPER 8 is the Abrams-directed, Steven Spielberg-produced project that no one seemed to know about before it was abruptly announced. As things go with relatively anything the boy wonder touches, not much of anything is know about the film. Well, other than these few facts...it revolves around aliens and Area 51, it takes place in 1979, and it is said to be the director's attempt to make a film that evokes early Spielberg a la CLOSE ENCOUNTERS. And, honestly, I don't really need to know much more than that to be completely obsessed.

Fortunately, we all have about a year to watch the teaser as many times as our eyes can handle, as the film doesn't hit theaters until next summer. Check it out HERE at Apple Trailers to begin watching frame by frame in the attempt to scrutinize for clues.

One major clue has already been discovered in the lettering at the end of the film reel, which spells out "Scariest thing i ever saw." In true Abrams fashion, this just happens to be the address for SUPER 8's viral site. Not much of anything is there at the moment (or so it seems) but, if the groundbreaking campaign for CLOVERFIELD was any indication, I would say we are in for some fun stuff ahead. We will surely keep you updated on any big and breaking developments.
