WINNIE THE POOH

Alright, readers, prepare yourself for the single most adorable thing you will see this month. You may be sitting in a room full of puppies and kitties who are trying to create a giant puppy/kitty pyramid to reach a balloon shaped like a bunny rabbit, but you will still not be witnessing the most heart-warming thing ever unless you view this trailer.

Disney has unveiled the first trailer for WINNIE THE POOH, the first Pooh Bear adventure from Disney in over 35 years. Grab some tissues and check out the trailer after the jump.

Here's the official synopsis:

"Walt Disney Animation Studios returns to the Hundred Acre Wood with WINNIE THE POOH, the first big-screen Pooh adventure from Disney animation in more than 35 years. With the charm, wit and whimsy of the original featurettes, this all-new movie reunites audiences with the philosophical 'bear of very little brain' and friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga, Roo—and last, but certainly not least, Eeyore, who has lost his tail. 'Well a tail is either there or it isn’t there,' said Pooh. 'And yours isn’t… there.' Owl sends the whole gang on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit. It turns out to be a very busy day for a bear who simply set out to find some honey."

The voice cast remains essentially similar to the previous Winnie The Pooh incarnations, with the exception of Craig Ferguson taking the reigns on Owl's voice. There is something so incredibly nostalgic and gentle about this trailer that it seems nearly impossible not to love. The film was completely off my radar and now I might have to put this on my "most anticipated of 2011" list, which is already getting pretty crowded. To make things even more amazing,  Zooey Deschanel is rumored to be singing the Winnie The Pooh theme for the film.

Thank God Disney is taking WINNIE THE POOH back and giving it the treatment it deserves (especially in the animation department). Nothing too flashy, no half-assed attempts to update the story, just classic animation and characters we know and love in their purest form. Bravo!

WINNIE THE POOH will be hitting theaters on July 15th, 2011.

Thanks to the Disney Animation Youtube for the video.
