Noomi Rapace fan? Afraid of baby monitors? Then Pal Sletaune’s BABYCALL may be either your favorite film ever, or one of the scariest.

Thanks to Twitch, we have our first real look at the latest film starring the upcoming SHERLOCK HOLMES 2 star and possible lead of Ridley Scott’s upcoming ALIEN prequel, and I must say, it kind of looks great. The film follows a woman essentially living in hiding with her young baby after getting out of an abusive relationship. Left scarred and timid by the relationship and basically praying not to be noticed by anyone for any reason her life is turned upside down when her baby monitor picks up signals from other apartments in her building, one signal in particular waking her with what seems to be the sound of someone being killed.

The film has a really great and relatively simple plot, and looks to be just as simplistic visually, making this a film that I can’t wait to check out. I have loved what I’ve seen from Rapace so far, and with directors like Scott seeming to bow at her feet, she seems to be something far greater than a one hit wonder. The film has a really interesting visual style that seems to be cold and frigid, just the way I like my Norwegian films. Count me more than in.
