Trailer for Roland Emmerich’s ANONYMOUS lands
I first heard about Roland Emmerich's film ANONYMOUS at 2010's SXSW Film Festival, during my interview with actor Rhys Ifans. He briefly mentioned the plot of the film and his involvement, but didn't have much else to say about it. Even at the time I remember being fascinated with the concept of Shakespeare not writing what is claimed to be his work, but couldn't really imagine what the film would be like.
Now we have a pretty good idea, as a trailer of the upcoming film has been released. You can check it out after the break!
The opening of the trailer is really great, showing an aspect of the film I wasn't expecting. The present day stuff was interesting, leaving me wanting more of the setup. Once they get to the past, though, things lose their footing a little bit. The idea of Emmerich doing a film like this is exciting, as it could be a great departure for him. The trailer, however, just looks like another Roland Emmerich film.
That being said, it still intrigues me greatly. Sure, it looks kind of cheesy, but the story seems engaging. I would like to see another trailer before I can fully pass judgement on it, but for now I'm putting it on the back-burner.
The film is set to hit theaters on September 30 of this year. Are you guys interested in seeing it?
