I saw a lot of films at Sundance this year, but one that has stayed with me to this day is ANIMAL KINGDOM. I can honestly say, without embellishment, that this is one of the best crime films I have ever seen (you can check out our review of the film HERE to get our full thoughts). Hopefully, you'll be able to check out the actual film soon, as Sony Pictures Classic has just released a full-length trailer!

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize for World Cinema in the Dramatic category, ANIMAL KINGDOM is a gritty crime drama that focuses on the dynamics of an Australian family as their seedy world of drugs, robbery, and murder crumbles around them. The film, from writer/director David Michôd, stars Guy Pearce (THE HURT LOCKER), Ben Mendelsohn (KNOWING), and Joel Edgerton (SMOKIN' ACES).

You may not know Michôd's name, but I'll bet some of you know his work. Aside from writing two of the best shorts films I've ever seen-- SPIDER and I LOVE SARAH JANE-- Michôd also wrote HESHER, yet another Sundance hit from 2010.

Check out the trailer and beautiful poster for the film after the jump!
