Trailer for THE BANG BANG CLUB hits
Yay for crappy accents, I guess.
That’s the feeling one gets after seeing the first trailer for the little talked about THE BANG BANG CLUB. Originally debuting at TIFF last year to absolutely no buzz, the film has since seemingly fallen off the face of the Earth, until today at least.
Starring the threesome of Ryan Phillippe, Malin Akerman, and Taylor Kitsch, the film follows a group of photographers who cover the first free elections in the post-Apartheid South Africa. However, that’s all seemingly lost in the wake of horrible accents coming from actors who seem to be working on a Lifetime movie style acting level here.
That all said, the film as a whole doesn’t seem to be anything to write home about. Lacking anything really in the way of style, the film looks strikingly unremarkable, despite an otherwise compelling premise. The film hits on April 22, so this may just be a poor trailer, but with the lack of buzz, things do not bode well for this film. Not at all.
