Trailer for the “Vincent Gallo as a terrorist” flick, ESSENTIAL KILLING, is essential viewing
There is nothing like some good old controversy to start a week off with, right?
Thanks to Twitch (via The Playlist), we now have our first trailer for the upcoming Jerzy Skoimowski film, ESSENTIAL KILLING. The film may sound like a run of the mill thriller, but it stars the always interesting and always grumpy thespian turned director, Vincent Gallo, as a Taliban member who is taken by American soldiers after killing three of their cohorts. He is then transferred to Europe, where he escapes, and must evade those looking for him. Vincent Gallo as a terrorist...sounds interesting.
While the premise in and of itself is not at all interesting (actually far from it), the trailer does look quite promising. It looks rather dark and far different than its action heavy premise would have you believe. Also, knowing that Gallo put his name on this thing makes me believe that this is not going to be any type of film that we really expect.
The film doesn’t have a release date yet, but a premiere at a late year festival like Toronto is not completely out of the question. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to see this when I go, if it does show, because this is one hell of a trailer, and makes me really anxious to see what the often off putting Gallo has in store.
What do you think?
