Trailer for THE WHISTLEBLOWER arrives
Following a relatively lukewarm response after its debut at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, the long-talked about thriller THE WHISTLEBLOWER, has been just that, talked about. Playing the festival circuit since then, the film has yet to find a release, and won’t until its premiere on August 5.
That said, that hasn’t stopped Samuel Goldwyn Films from pumping out a brand new trailer for the film, thanks to Apple, that definitely gets one excited to see it, but only if you like your thrillers a bit more like a film like THE CONSTANT GARDENER.
WHISTLEBLOWER looks and feels like a direct descendant of that underrated gem of a thriller, and stars Rachel Weisz as Kathryn Bolkovac, a cop who becomes tangled in an investigation looking into the world of sex slavery. Yup, some really upbeat stuff.
Co-starring David Strathairn, Monica Bellucci, and Vanessa Redgrave, the film appears to be a really intriguing thriller, one that may be cliché, but also one that definitely won’t disappoint. The fact that the film has been languishing for some time does have me a bit worried, but with a cast and crew like this (it’s the debut of director Larysa Kondracki), it should be able to live up to the hype.
