Trailer list announced for the Super Bowl; features CAPTAIN AMERICA, TRANSFORMERS, more
It goes without saying that for events outside of the world of film, very few have the same amount of cinematic intrigue as the Super Bowl.
While much of the focus for non-football fans will be on the commercials, with 2011 proving to be one of the bigger tentpole years of recent memory (yet will pale in comparison to 2012), the Super Bowl will feature a cavalcade of trailers for some massively anticipated projects.
Leading the list are films like THOR, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, SUPER 8, TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON, CAPTAIN AMERICA and COWBOYS AND ALIENS, all of which will be shown during the game itself. Joining it will be trailers for RANGO and LIMITLESS, as well as trailers for THE EAGLE, JUST GO WITH IT, BATTLE: LOS ANGELES, PRIEST, KUNG FU PANDA: THE KABOOM OF DOOM, JUSTIN BIEBER: NEVER SAY NEVER 3D and TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT, all of which will play before or after the game.
However, it is the trailers missing that has this writer most interested.
Missing from this list include X-MEN: FIRST CLASS, SHERLOCK HOLMES 2, and even SUCKER PUNCH and GREEN LANTERN, all of which could make a huge splash at the upcoming event. That said, there is a lot of power here, so hopefully they all live up to the hype.
