If there is one thing that gets me more excited than a new film starring Anthony Mackie, Kerry Washington, and Wendell Pierce, it’s that same film being scored by the best hip-hop group alive, The Roots.

That is the case with the new film entitled NIGHT CATCHES US, the feature debut of director Tanya Hamilton, which follows a former Black Panther who returns to his old home in 1976, only to find tensions rise by his return.

We have a new trailer for the film, which will hit various outlets such as iTunes, VOD, and the Xbox Marketplace on October 29, before it hits theaters on December 3, and I have to say, it looks fantastic. I really dig the footage we see here, but what gets me massively excited is the score by The Roots, which sounds really stunning. Hopefully this will get its own release, because this would be one hell of a score to own on as a standalone piece. That said, the film itself looks great, so hopes are really high for this one. Check out the trailer after the break.
