Trailer: PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES
With TRON: LEGACY opening up in just a matter of days, Disney, as any good studio would, is using this chance to pump up their most hotly anticipated release of 2011, and what will surely be the studio’s biggest winner for that respective year.
The studio has released the first trailer for the fourth film in the PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN film, ON STRANGER TIDES, and this time we find our hero, Captain Jack Sparrow, on the hunt for the legendary Fountain of Youth. Check out the first trailer after the break.
The film stars Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane, Stephen Graham, Richard Griffiths, Keith Richards, Judi Dench, and Sam Clafin, and personally, while I’m not a huge fan of this franchise, I do have to say, there is something about seeing Depp as off the hinges as he is in these films that makes me interested. McShane is a perfect actor for Blackbeard, and director Rob Marshall could prove to be a really interesting director to take on the purely visual world that is this franchise.
That all said, this trailer is kind of dreadful in its mediocrity, so color me cautiously optimistic. If even that.
