Trailer round-up: CEREMONY, TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT red-band, and YELLING TO THE SKY
Much of the focus this week has been on bits of news that are hard to transfer into anticipation for their respective films - such as casting and on-set photos.
Well, thankfully, we now have a trio of just-released trailers that genuinely add a lot of intrigue to each of their projects. After the break, check out trailers for CEREMONY, TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT, and YELLING TO THE SKY.
First, Apple has a new trailer for Max Winkler’s upcoming film, CEREMONY, his feature debut. The film stars Michael Angarano and Uma Thurman, and follows a young adult who follows his ex, Zoe, all the way to her Hampton-based wedding, with the hopes of winning her back.
The film also features a really solid supporting cast (Lee Pace and Jake Johnson just to name a few), as well as a soundtrack to die for, featuring a Paul Simon cover by Vampire Weekend frontman, Ezra Koenig. I love this trailer, and it definitely makes the film look like a really fantastic debut for Winkler.
Next, IGN has a new, red-band trailer for the upcoming film, TAKE ME HOME TONIGHT, and despite its massive delays, the film does definitely look really funny. Michael Dowse is behind the camera for this one, and with a fun cast including the always-engaging Teresa Palmer and Topher Grace, the film has Apatow-like tinges to it, that makes me think this is a comedy to really keep an eye on.
This kills the rather lame green-band trailer, whatever that may mean.
Finally, ONTD has the trailer for YELLING TO THE SKY, an upcoming SXSW premiere. Starring Zoe Kravitz, Tim Blake Nelson, and Gabourey Sidibe, the film follows a teen who is left alone to fend for herself. Shareeka Epps makes a welcome return here, after relatively staying work-free after her breakout role in HALF NELSON.
The film looks fantastic, so this is definitely a film that will be getting a lot of buzz pre-SXSW.
