Trailer Sneak Peek: Chris Hemsworth presents SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN

Rachel Fox

March 14th, 2012

SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNSTMAN's Chris Hemsworth has taken part in what appears to be some sort of PSA meant to alert you of a whole new trailer for the film set to debut during the March 19 broadcast of The Voice. In the clip, Hemsworth "presents" a few new and as-yet-unseen morsels of the classic bedtime story-action-fairytale along with some bits and pieces from the (previously released) trailer.

The clip features heroine Kristen Stewart petting a white horse, a petite Bob Hoskins delivering what sounds like some sort of ominous prophecy, and the Evil Queen (Charlize Theron) in what appears to be vintage Alexander McQueen. Though the film shares much with the similarly themed MIRROR MIRROR (notably the whole "Snow White" thing), it does appear to be a darker, action-oriented, and decidedly less cartoonishly whimsical affair.

SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN is set to open on June 19, a solid three months after the Julia Roberts-as-Evil Queen MIRROR MIRROR, opening this Friday. Having been overwhelmed by MIRROR MIRROR previews lately I must admit that I am holding out more hope for SWATH; though my opinion of either is seriously sullied after last year's dismal attempt at a re-imagined fairytale with an empowered heroine in a killer costume, RED RIDING HOOD. A totally separate re-match - Roberts vs. Theron for the title of "Evilest Queen" - holds greater promise.

In the meantime, check out these behind-the-scenes featurettes. Theron looks ravishing and is clearly reveling in her role as Queen Ravenna.
