Trailer: Todd Haynes-directed HBO miniseries, MILDRED PIERCE
Coming just a day after we got our first look at Kate Winslet in her upcoming lead role as the titular character of the new HBO miniseries, MILDRED PIERCE, we now have our first piece of footage, and I must say, it’s one hell of a teaser.
The miniseries, directed by I'M NOT THERE helmer Todd Haynes, stars Winslet, Evan Rachel Wood, and Guy Pearce. The series is a remake of the classic piece of noir from director Michael Curtiz, the 1948 film of the same name, which starred Joan Crawford in an Oscar award-winning performance.
As a teaser, this looks completely and utterly breathtaking. The period elements seem very solid, particularly Wood, who looks absolutely stunning. Haynes looks to be on the top of his game here, right down to his always-stellar cinematography. Toss in a top-notch cast, and you have a miniseries that looks to be bloody fantastic. Check out the teaser after the break.

MILDRED PIERCE will hit HBO in spring of 2011, and will without a doubt become the big awards contender for the best miniseries Emmy come next year.
