TRANSFORMERS 3, now with Alan Tudyk! And more!

Remember that moment back in March when we all did a double-take at the casting news for TRANSFORMERS 3 (Frances McDormand and John Malkovich)? Well, prepare yourselves for this one, ladies and gents. The man with the fan(boy)s, Alan Tudyk, is now confirmed as being cast in TRANSFORMERS 3. As of now, Tudyk's role in the film is unknown, as is the film's plot. Tudyk is best known for his work in Joss Whedon's Firefly series.

As mentioned earlier, Tudyk will be joined by TRANSFORMERS newcomers McDormand and Malkovich, as well as Patrick Dempsey. Dempsey's chin will also be appearing.

Beyond the exciting Tudyk casting news, it appears that wacky Michael Bay could have pulled a fast one on us. Back in March, the man himself confirmed that the (racist) twins would definitely not be back for the third instalment. Maybe I'm crazy, but when I hear "the Twins are not back in TRANSFORMERS 3,” that makes me think that the Twins will not be back. Just me? No, I didn't think so.

Well, recently, worrying snapshots (via Left Lane News), have raised concerns that they may be back. Two Chevy Sparks, detailed in telltale orange and green have been seen on set, parked next to the newest Transformer castmate, the Ferrari 458 Italia. Given the new models, it seems that the two could be reappearing, possibly revamped and less stupid than before. Thoughts?

This last tidbit is for all you TRANSFORMERS fans that were wronged with REVENGE OF THE FALLEN. Turns out, leading man Shia LaBeouf (or LeBeef as he's known around these waters) agrees with you.

In a recent interview with the Huffington Post, LeBeef admits that "There were some really wild stunts in it, but the heart was gone...We got lost. We tried to get bigger. It's what happens to sequels. It's like, how do you top the first one? You've got to go bigger. Mike [Bay] went so big that it became too big, and I think you lost the anchor of the movie...You lost a bit of the relationships. Unless you have those relationships, then the movie doesn't matter. Then it's just a bunch of robots fighting each other."

So don't worry, fellow fanboys. He knows it was not as good as it could have been. And while he didn't come right out and say "I'm sorry we had a scene with robot heaven," I'm sure that's what he meant.
