UPDATED: Trent Reznor scoring David Fincher’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO
UPDATED: The Playlist reports that Reznor will be joined by Ross again for this score. Rejoice!
No reason to mess with a good thing.
Over at /Film, they have word that Trent Reznor is scoring David Fincher’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. Reznor has reportedly been working on it for over a month, so this isn’t just a plan, it’s already in action.
Reznor and Atticus Ross scored Fincher’s THE SOCIAL NETWORK last year to great acclaim (our own Allison Loring rated it her number one pick for Soundtracks and Scores of the year). While we don’t yet know if Reznor is working with Ross again for DRAGON TATTOO, we are “to expect something different” from this new score.
The work Reznor and Ross did for THE SOCIAL NETWORK added huge value and resonance to the already-great film, so I am glad to see that Fincher has also recognized that and is continuing the collaboration. Fans of the books and the Swedish versions of the films, how do you imagine this English language version sounding score-wise? Does Reznor fit the bill for you?
