Well, it now seems official. A sequel to TRON is in the works and has actually moved forward. A teaser trailer was shown at the recent Comic-Con and it was met with a huge amount of excitement by the crowd.

Pixar big wig John Lasseter has been a driving force in getting the sequel made (officially being referred to as TR2N). The script has been being worked on by the original film's writer / director  Steve Lisberger since  it was released, but Lasseter  has hired Lost scribes  Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horowitz to start from scratch.

Commercial director Joseph Kosinski will head up the film and Lisberger will stay on as the film's co-producer.

According to what is seen in the teaser trailer, Jeff Bridges is returning and so are an updated version of the very cool-looking lightcycles.

Check out a very sketchy bootleg of the footage at Comic-Con. It's completely worth it if you are into TRON. You can definitely see some of the cool visuals and where they are planning to go with this film. Click on the image below to check it out.
